Follow up date field not populating

One of my users is attempting to populate a next contact date field that is set up as a date field. When they click on the calendar icon that appears in the field they see the calendar and select a date but then the date doesn't actually populate the field. This is a new user with the same generic set up as other users in their group. Other experienced users have done a side by side with him to make sure he is doing this correctly. I have also been able to recreate the issue when impersonating his log in. No one else is having these issues. Any ideas what could be causing this?

  • Zach,

Thanks for posting the issue here and letting us know that one of your users is experiencing issues with updating a date field where other users are able to update this field.

I believe that the best approach here is for you to submit a ticket to support directly that includes the details, such as: affected user name, field name, and a link to the affected contact record. Any screenshots of the issue will also be helpful.

This will help us with diagnosing what the root cause may be for this user.

You can submit a ticket to support either by logging a case directly in the support portal or by emailing support@sugarcrm.com

Thanks! We look forward to receiving the details.

  • Thank you Lori, i went ahead and sent in a support ticket.

  • Perfect! i see your email and screenshot. Thank you for that!  Based on the screenshot, this issue looks to be for Sugar Sell rather than Sugar Market. We will look into this as soon as we can and let you know what we discover.

  • Hey Zach!

We discussed this in your case but I wanted to throw out the fix in case anyone else stumbles upon this post and is running into a similar problem.

This is caused by a corruption in the User Preferences. To fix this issue for a particular user, they would need to go to their Profile by going to the top right menu. Then on their profile page, click on the dropdown arrow next to Edit and select "Reset User Preferences". Then have them clear their cache/cookies from all time, restart the browser, and login to test. Here are the instructions for clearing the cache/cookies for the different browsers:

Hope this helps someone in the future!
