Action Button - Email Templates with attachments

We have different Action Buttons in one of our modules and when a user clicks it triggers the email builder with a predefined email template. In those email templates we have attachments. However, when one of our users clicks on the action button the email template comes up but the attachments are not following. 
If we use the email module and choose the template the attachments follow. 

Is there a limitation to the action button, that attachments don't follow? Anyone else who has this issue and a work-around for it?

    unfortunately this has been documented as a known issue ( https://portal.sugarondemand.com/#supp_Bugs/89858 ) and there is no work-around at this moment.

    If this is causing a major impact, I would recommend opening a support case and let them know so this issue can be prioritised.

  • I would love to understand how releases like what 14 seem to be, are just a copy/paste of the previous round of updates and enhancements, once again stating that reports are streamlined, action buttons enhanced, etc making it seem like big changes when stuff like this have been sitting around for 2 YEARS!!!

    Stop enhancing the little things and focus on the problems and stop making enhancements from previous rounds seem like new updates!

    I wanted to apologize for your frustration and explain a little about releases and our release notes process.

    Our Enterprise customers are, typically, On-Site and host their server running Sugar. They only get upgrades once a year and would be going from 13.0 to 14.0. To these customers, these are new enhancements, and the release notes are written as such. 

    Our Cloud customers, typically running Sell and/or Serve, will see releases each quarter. 

    So we write different release notes for different customer versions. The customers only seeing major version releases will get all the enhancements that came in 13.1, .2, and .3 as well as all the bug fixes that came in 14.0. These are probably the release notes you read. Our Cloud customers who typically see quarterly releases would see different release notes.

    I'm sorry for your frustration with this process and this issue. In addition to what  said, I'd also recommend you to review https://sugarclub.sugarcrm.com/explore/product-updates/release-week/w/releases/942/q2-2024#sell_serve_user_admin in Release Central to give you an overview of what was released this quarter for Sugar Sell and Serve (the Q2 2024/14.0 release). 

    Additionally, I'm having a case created for you and associated with issue 89858 that  referenced, helping our Product Management team better track how this is affecting our customers. You should see this coming through soon. ( I see that you already have a case associated, otherwise I'd do the same for you). I'm also asking that Issue 89858 be escalated, increasing its priority. 

    I would prefer to give you an immediate fix for this issue, but this will help our Product Management and Engineering teams prioritize this for future releases.
