[QUESTION] Importing Module via Module Loader Questions

Hi Jean,

Please go through this link to know more about the process of Migrating Customisations from One Instance to Another Instance. In this link it has been clearly mentioned the process you have to follow.

A. Does the dropdown list and values created on the staging instance while building the new module will be imported along when uploaded via Module Loader on the production instance, or do I have to re-create the Dropdown List/Value on the production instance ? 

[PK Reply] - Yes, when you are exporting the module from studio it will export all the customised fields, labels, dropdowns, layouts in the package. You no need to created the dropdown lists separately when migrating module from one instance to another instance.

Note: Make sure your Sandbox and Production are version and edition compatible.

What if I created all the custom fields and dropdowns directly on the Module Builder and not in Studio?

any custom fields you create withinn the Module Builder interface will be included within the package that you install onto another instance via Module Loader.

What about the Dropdown List/values attached for the custom field?

also list values are included but I highly recommend not to move the module builder package to the prod instance directly as you may run into several issues.

My best practise is to activate the module builder module on the staging instance, check if everything is fine expecially the relationships and then export it directly from studio including all the customisations I made.

This export from studio is the one I move to production via module loader, run 

1. QRR

2. Rebuild relationships

3. rebuild roles

and recheck if everything is fine.
