[QUESTION] Importing Module via Module Loader Questions

Hello, I have a question.

I have a created a new module via Module Builder on a staging instance. I plan to import this new module via Module Loader on the production instance.

Question is:
A. Does the dropdown list and values created on the staging instance while building the new module will be imported along when uploaded via Module Loader on the production instance, or do I have to re-create the Dropdown List/Value on the production instance.

B. If I have to re-create the Dropdown List/Value on the production instance. Do I create it first before importing, or it's okay to create it after the import is complete.

  • Hi Jean,

Please go through this link to know more about the process of Migrating Customisations from One Instance to Another Instance. In this link it has been clearly mentioned the process you have to follow.

    A. Does the dropdown list and values created on the staging instance while building the new module will be imported along when uploaded via Module Loader on the production instance, or do I have to re-create the Dropdown List/Value on the production instance ?

[PK Reply] - Yes, when you are exporting the module from studio it will export all the customised fields, labels, dropdowns, layouts in the package. You no need to created the dropdown lists separately when migrating module from one instance to another instance.

Note: Make sure your Sandbox and Production are version and edition compatible.

    Hope this information helps you:)

    Thanks and Regards,

  • What if I created all the custom fields and dropdowns directly on the Module Builder and not in Studio?
