Should Web Activity Detail Subpanel Be Available for Contact?

When looking at a Contact the Web Activity subpanel is not very useful. I know nothing about what they have actually done.

What would be most helpful is what seems to be possible in the Web Activity Detail.

It is not an available subpanel for the Contact.

Am I missing something?

  • Hi John,

The Web Activity Detail is a related module to the Web Activity module and is not directly related to the Contacts module, so it is not available for you to add directly to the Contact. Another option to view more detailed web hits for a contact is to use the Sugar Market button on the contact which displays the iFrame. This would show you the specific URLs someone visited along with other interactions they have taken or you can filter the view to only show web activity.

    Thank you,

I think our challenge is that the Market iFrame is not always accurate, or complete, and we can't trust it, so we have stopped using it for the most part.

For example, on the above Contact I started with, many of the Web Activities in the subpanel do line up, but not all. Is the  Market iFrame correct? If so, why isn't everything in the subpanel since it is being pushed from Sugar Market anyway?

The biggest reason for not using the iFrame though, and why I wound up giving Sugar Sell users more access than I would like to Sugar Market is that tracking email activity doesn't really work.

In the iFrame I can tell that this same Contact clicked on a link, some link, in an email. But I have no idea what link. That really matters. At least to us. So, for users to know what is really going on, they can go to Market to get the details.

Guess what? They don't do that. And so they aren't as prepared as they could be had they had the info in Sugar Sell that is in Sugar Market.

I mean that was the whole reason for choosing Sugar Market, because we would have the integration.

Is there some way around this? I would love for users to find everything in Sugar Sell.

  • Hi John,

If anything, the iFrame should be more correct, because it is a direct view into Sugar Market. However, if you believe data is missing or inaccurate, please contact our Support team so that they can troubleshoot and assist.

Regarding the email click information, we do have that exact item logged as an enhancement request (ID 86878). I can have our support team create a case and link it to this request for you so that you can more easily follow any updates on the enhancement.

    Thanks,

    Jana
