TextArea field size

Hi,

Enterprise 11.0.2

The text area field is currently set to 1000 characters, but i have received a request for it to be increased to 1700. 

I checked the documentation but cannot find any information - can this be done, and how?

    The message i get back is:

    Would that indicate the setting in studio or the SQL database?
