How to make Opportunity Expected Close Date independent of RLI Expected Close Date in Sugar Sell

A new feature in 10.1 was introduced to do exactly that - so that you can set close dates at Opp level and it will cascade down to the RLI level. Prior to this new release, it was common to set up a SugarBPM process def to do exactly the same thing (trigger on change of close date of Opp, update all related RLIs close date accordingly) - so either way, it would not require code.

Hi Adam,

Thank you for the reply. We do have the "Update Open Revenue Line Items" checkbox under Sales Stage in Opportunity, so that the sales stage cascades down to RLIs. But the Expected Close Date in Opportunity does not have such a checkbox. Instead, the Sales Stage in Opportunity is a read-only field that is set automatically based on the sales stages in RLIs. Is there a setting somewhere that toggles between setting the sales stage in RLI or in Opportunity?

Agree with Adam - there are two checkboxes - one for Opp Stage, another for Opp Expected Close Date, both cascades down corresponding value to open RLIs...
I've made a screenshot of that for Sugar demo instance 10.1 (see below)
If your instance does not provide such functionality OOTB  there could be an issue with record view for the particular instance, or smth else, maybe some customizations were made ?
