What kind of reports are you trying to add to dashboard? From what I've been able to determine, you are only able to add reports that have a chart to a dashboard. You can do so by creating new dashboard (or editing existing one), adding dashlet, then selecting > Saved Reports Chart Dashlet.
I finally got around to writing something to solve this on my system, if you want to read about it I wrote it up, the code is available for download at the bottom of the post.
Ken, this is very impressive. We bought a custom dashlet from W-Systems two years ago that does exactly that. With your code, there would've been no need for it.
