Outlook Plug-in: Failed to autoarchive mail items

I'm guessing there's a setting somewhere...  We're on Release 9.1 with the current Outlook Plug-in on MS Outlook 2016

When using the Send and Archive in the Outlook Plug-In, the email is successfully archived, but the error message pops up saying "Failed to autoarchive mail items".  It doesn't happen with every email, but with most of them.

Has anyone else seen this and know what I'm doing incorrectly?

  • mhm, some ideas to check

    • Attachements exceeded max upload file size?
    • non unicode DB but emoticons in emails? (should be imported correctly but don't know on 9.1)
    • roles allow to create emails but not attachements/documents (or whatever denies saving files)

  • Thanks Bjorn,

    1. The attachment size isn't a problem - There are a few Excel spreadsheets an Word documents and all are under 1MB.  Most emails don't have attachments

    2. There aren't any emoticons used - we blocked that ability :-)

    3. I checked the Role authority, and they can do "All" except Export and can only delete if they own the document.  I'll have a user turn off the option to upload attachment and see if that clears the error.  I checked some emails with attachments and they successfully save to Sugar.

This one is troublesome to me because it isn't consistent.  I'll keep digging.
