Process Author: Can it do workflows for related records?

I am playing around the advanced workflow engine of SugarCRM 7.6. It does pack a lot of functionalities that the old workflow engine cannot do. However, i still could not figure out if this is capable of creating workflows that has something to do with the related modules.

A sample use case that i would like to run would be, if an existing lead record has a related call record which has a status of held, i would like to create a task automatically assigned to myself to send a follow up email.

Is ProcessAuthor capable of this? I see that there are still lacking tutorials for this and i wish SugarCRM can come up with materials to get users up to speed.

Hi Johannsen, Please check the limits here: http://support.sugarcrm.com/04_Knowledge_Base/02Administration/100Process_Author/Understanding_Processes_vs._Workflow/ It says: "Multi-Layer Module Relationships Sugar workflows allow administrators to create and evaluate records in modules related to the target record, as well as records related to that related module. Process Author is limited to first-level one-to-one or one-to-many related modules where the target module is on the "Many" side of a relationship." Then you have this limit on your scenario as One Lead -> many Calls, and the target module you are evaluating is "Leads". There is a workaround that you may use: 1. create a logic hook in Calls to add a value to a new field in Cases: "Held related Calls" 2. launch a process that evaluates this new field in Cases Hope it helps, David
