Reports that filter for primary email address only

Am I doing something wrong?  Ive got a filtered report of contacts that displays the contact's email address but I cant seem to find a way of displaying just their primary email address. The report displays every email address belonging to contacts that fit the filter I've chosen. I can filter out emails that are 'opted out' or 'invalid' okay but I want to exclude all active secondary email addresses too and cant seem to do that.

Any ideas?

    Same question here but different experience: 

    • If you report on the contact module, you're getting only email addresses that are flagged as primary. 
    • If you report on the email address module, you're getting primary and non primary addresses. Indeed, without the possibilty to see/filter primary/non primary. 

    I'm working on Sugar Enterprise 9.x.

    My hunch is that when you start from contacts, the reporting engine filters out non primary by default. 

    It would be nice if that flag was accessible in reports.
