Upgrade SugarPro 6.5.18 to 7.6.0

Hi,

We want to upgrade our Sugar Prof. Currently, its running on 6.5.18. Can we upgrade it to direct with available package SugarPro-Upgrade-6.5.21-to-7.6.0.0.zip ?

Or if we need to update latest 6.5.x then how we can do that?
I checked only this package available on SugarPro-Upgrade-6.5.x-to-6.5.22.zip.

Because there is no upgrade for .21 to 7.6

Hi Pavan

For Sugar pro upgrade from version 6.5.18 to 7.6.0 you first need to

1. install SugarCRM 7.5.0

2. then migrate the fields and customize the layout.

3. and move data from SugarCRM 6.5.18. to 7.6.0 in record.js

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled SugarCRM upgrade issue, not compatible ?. Hi, we are just upgrade 6.5.18 to 6.5.22, which works fine. Buy when i use SugarPro-Upgrade-6.5.22-to-7.6.1.0.zip then error comes. Please help, How we can upgrade then?

There are major changes between 6.5 and 7.6 which could affect your customizations. Make sure you are doing the upgrade in a test instance before upgrading production. Some of the changes between 6.5 and 7.6 can be found in What to Expect When Upgrading to 7.6 but the Health Check will also help identify errors that will affect the upgrade.

Hi, we are testing up-gradation on other server, what should i use for license.
Now its not allowing me to login - Your company's license for SugarCRM needs to be validated. Only admins may login

We are running same licence key on production server. Now, how we can test upgrade?

Hi pavan,
at least a user with admin access should be able to log in and verify the license key against Sugar's key server. Please make sure your server has web access, in any other case, you will have to validate manually.

yes you can validate on both servers. It will not affect your production machine. Please remeber to keep the user count below or on your licensed number.

I re-validate but only admin can login. When i try to login with a regular user then getting error msg Your company's license for SugarCRM needs to be validated. Only admins may login.

How to allow regular users also for login in test server?

This issue can be caused by an unsupported PHP version. Can you please check to make sure the version of PHP on your test server is one of the supported versions for your version of Sugar?

Hi pavan,
it seems your installation is missing the php_bcmath module. This module is not needed by Sugar 6, but Sugar 7 requires it (see http://support.sugarcrm.com/Documentation/Sugar_Versions/7.6/Pro/Installation_and_Upgrade_Guide/ ).
Which OS / webserver / PHP version are you running, maybe we can give you some directions on how to get that module. If you are on a hosted environment without access to PHP configuration please request the module from your hoster.
