Process Author Email Notification Issue

We are moving away from the legacy workflow due to its coming deprecation next year. We were playing around with Process Author to replicate all our existing workflows. However we can't seem to get it to work consistently. I would say its success rate is only about 30 to 40% of the time.

We implemented even the simplest email notification workflow for this just to explore how it works. What's strange is that we noticed a warning icon when previewing the completed processes.

Does anyone know what this icon is for? Would appreciate if you can share your expertise on this.

Thanks,

  • Hi Johannsen,

the error icon normally only appears when conditions for your workflow steps are not met. What does the error overview on the right side say? If you want, you can export the workflow and send me the definition file so I can have a look.

  • Hi Mark Willert,

Here is the definition file I extracted. Note that I modified the relationship of Contacts and Cases where Cases is on the many side of the relationship. The reason being is that we want to be able to send a notification to the contact directly associated to the case.

    Thanks for the help

Sorry I forgot the attacment. Please see the file in this response.

Note that I made a custom relationship between the Contacts and Cases module. I added a one-to-many relationship so that I will have direct link to a contact when looking at a case record.

    Thanks

  • Hi Johannsen,

I imported your definiton file and recreated the relationship. The job ran normally without any error, and I also got no error symbol shown in the designer.

What Sugar Version are you using? I was testing with 7.6.1. Also, you can try to remove the send notice element from your workflow and change the endpoint so it creates the email notice (just to simplify things).

  • Hi Mark Willert,

Thanks for the response. I am very grateful

I am on 7.6.1 Enterprise edition. This really boggles my mind as to why its doing this. Perhaps if I do a fresh install on another UAT this would work?

Also, thank you for the advice regarding the notice elements.
