Records last Modifications date automatic changes without updating records ?

Hi All

Please suggest ,

Records last Modifications date automatics changes without updating manual or api records ? any one have any idea why this is happen ? and where is it possible and why modification date changes without changes updating records even audit log also old date or not updated new dates.

This can be caused by multiple things. Which module are we talking about? This can happen if a logic hook updates data on related records, workflows can cause this behaviour ( either old workflow module or the Sugar BPM)
