Email SMTP Connection Process

We are currently researching why our campaigns are being sent from Sugar at a very slow pace. We recently upgrade our email server from Windows 2008 to Windows 2016 and ever since it seems like emails are processing one at a time from Sugar instead of sending in batches like it used to. We noticed that the process is Sugar will create a connection with our email server, send an email, disconnect, and then repeat. Shouldn't it create a connection, send all emails, and then close the connection? Has anyone experienced this behavior before?

We tested using gmail as the smtp server and the emails processed exponentially faster.

Here is a link to the errors we are seeing in the log files.

  • Hi Dan, I don't have an immediate answer, but considering where your previous forum thread got to, I think this may require someone to get a bit more involved with your instance and setup - could you please log a support ticket?

  • Hi Dan,

I can suggest you check the configuration of your mail server, the one that is not on the black list, the version of SugarCRM, the configuration of your campaigns, if you have an automatic workflow, that your mail server can send little more than 5000 daily emails, it is recommended to have a target audience list for a campaign, you can also apply a review to your database to optimize it and make inquiries and / or writings faster and more agile.

It is complete review process and there are several factors that can influence the slow delivery of your emails. I administered SugarCRM version 7.9 Enterprise, I could send up to 1,300 emails in a short time, I would lie to you, but to give you a little time, approx 20 min.

    Regards.
