Why does composing an email with attachments generate a note?

I'm getting this bizarre behaviour in SugarCRM 7.5 where composing an email with attachments generates a Note for each of those attachments. Is this normal behaviour? And if it is, is there a way to disable it?

Thanks!

  • Hi Yen,

This is the expected behavior, as is described in our documentation. This cannot be disabled, as there is no way to configure a different way for storing attachments in Sugar. What is the reason you don't want this to occur? Depending on what it is, I may be able to help you find a workaround.

  • Hi Alan,

Thanks for the reply. We use Notes to store and process some important data, and the  attachments add a lot of noise.

However, the way around it for us was to use a logic hook to categorize the Note as an Attachment, and then so we can filter appropriately.

    Thanks again
