What will happen to existing ProcessMaker workflows in Sugar 7.6?

What will happen to existing ProcessMaker workflows (and licenses) once an instance of Sugar is upgraded to 7.6, with ProcessMaker built-in? Will the ProcessMaker module need to be uninstalled first? Will the workflows be lost, or is there a migration path?

We've not started using ProcessMaker yet, but would like to know if our work would be thrown away if we started using ProcessMaker for SugarCRM now.

(Currently on Sugar 7.2.2.0 Ent.)

Thank you,

Jason
  • Hi Jason,

Existing installations of Process Author / ProcessMaker will be required to be uninstalled before upgrading to 7.6 and any process data created pre-7.6 will automatically be removed by the act of uninstalling the module loadable package. If you haven't yet started creating processes, I recommend waiting until upgrading to 7.6 to define your desired processes.

    Kind regards,

    Chris
  • Thanks so much for the response. This is exactly the kind of information we needed.
  • Hi Jason,
You may want to consider Process Manager Enterprise from SierraCRM. This very powerful workflow solution has all the capabilities found in Process Maker, just not a refined drag and drop user interface nor support for the BPM 2.0 standard. Upgrading Process Manager is a simple process of running module loader. Any existing processes are retained. The product is fully functional under SugarCRM 7.5. • Try Process Maker in Sugar 7.6 Enterprise before spending another load of $ on an additional workflow tool.
