Is there a way to create a "template" for cases?

Hi all,

Sugar CE had a function called "Quick Pick".  You created case templates called "quick picks" and if you applied one to a case, it added specific values to the case.  E.g. we have members who decide to cancel, and my old cancel quick pick would make the case subject be "MEMBERNAME wants to cancel".  It would make the case description be "MEMBERNAME is cancelling.  Please record their reason below and assign this case to their rep."  This put a little structure around these cases.

Is there anything similar in Sugar Serve 14?

Thanks as always,

Elisabeth

  • Hi  ,

The functionality you describe in Sugar CE sounds like it would have been a customization rather than a native feature of the product. I don't recall any such feature from Sugar 6.5 or earlier, but I forget a lot of things from 10 years ago. Sweat smile

In terms of current functionality, I don't think there's anything that meets your needs. Action Buttons are the closest feature I can think of since they can be used to update the existing record. However, those buttons are only available on existing records, and I am assuming you would want to apply a template when creating a new case. I'm not aware of any current 3rd party solutions that address this functionality, but I'm sure it could be customized. One alternative you could look into is a program like TextExpander which allows you to quickly inject frequently used text into any field or document.
