Which is the best way to manage vacations?

I'm wondering which is the best way to manage holidays and vacations in Sugar.

In the User profile, there is the possibility to define user holidays; in the Business Center I can define business holidays; then, I can also define shifts, with shift execptions.

It seems to me that there is some overlap between them.

Am I right?

Is there a best practice to choose among them?

  • Shift and shift exceptions manage specific working hours for the users (shift) and hours they are not available (shift exceptions).

    That said, combination of Business Centers holidays, User profile holidays, shift and shift exceptions allows your company the manage:

    • Holidays for a region (Country, State, City etc)
    • Holidays for a given user
    • Working hours
    • Working hours exceptions

    Thanks to these features you are able to wisely manage bpm process to deal with SLA and several other quality parameters.
