Notifications for new related records

Hi,

users are asking if it is possible to receive email notifications when someone adds related records (like meetings and calls) to an assigned Account.

The exact request is: "I would like to be notified if a colleague is planning a visit or call with one of my customers"

Any suggestion?

Thanks

Omar

  • Hi Omar,

Yes, it's relatively easy to set up this type of notification with a simple BPM and an email template (I have a number of this type of alert coded).

Create the email template with the content desired: Most of mine have what the account owner may want to know so they don't have to open the call record.  I always include a link to the record in case they want to open it.

Set the BPM start point for new records in the module (call, meeting, etc.)

Either use a Send Email or use the termination point as send email.

Set the to, cc, or bcc fields for user that owns the associated record - I always copy the person that created the call record.

P.S. I have some where a CC is sent to an address where another department needs to see the activity.

P.P.C. I often temporarily set myself as a BCC on these when I create them so I can monitor and assure they are working properly.
