Generic emails

Hi all,

I have a question about generic email addresses. Our operations team uses some generic email addresses that are not associated with a specific person for sending certificates. This has led to duplicates in the “Contact” module, as a personal contact and a generic contact for certificates were created for the same name. How can we better work with such generic email addresses without duplicates?

    You can have a single Contact record with multiple email addresses for the person.  One is set as the primary.

    We have a similar situation where multiple people at a customer account share a single email address - often something like purchasing@companyname.com.  In some cases, there isn't a person's name associated with the email address.  My solution was to add a new Contact Type to the drop-down "Generic or System Address" and I create a Contact named "CompanyName Purchasing".  In the cases where a person also has an individual address, they have a contact record and the "purchasing" email address is added as a secondary address.
