Importing

Hi All,

I've been trying to import data to a custom module created. The field I am trying to import in that module is a Relate data type for the field Account name.

To add this its asking me to add the Relate ID.

I've tried adding the Account ID, and it still just is blank?

Is there something I am doing wrong? I've attached a pic of the import file. I manually add the account names just to check if I am adding the correct IDs and got these examples as a part of the import file

Any help would be appreciated

  • Hi  ,

Are you importing into a relate field or a relationship field? If it is a relationship field, the column you need to map the ID is not obvious. In the field listing on the import mapping step, look for a field that looks like the following:

    LBL_{RELATIONSHIP NAME}_FROM_{CURRENT MODULE}_TITLE_ID

Select that option and it should properly map the relationship on import.

You can find the relationship name (e.g. abc_custom_module_accounts_1) by going to Admin > Studio > {CURRENT MODULE} > Relationships. There is an existing bug for this issue (85879). As a workaround to the bug, we upload a label translation for these label keys (e.g. 'Account ID for Importing') so our clients can easily identify the proper field to map the database ID for relationship importing.

  • For a related field to Accounts (e.g. BusinessPartner) the field "... (related Account ID)" is the correct field to add the ID of the related Account.

I tried this in a test environment and it worked fine.

Do not import the Account name.
Make sure you use the option "Create new records and update existing records" in the first import step.
Perhaps there is a blank at the end of the id, remove that.
And check whether there had been some import errors during the import process.
