Module for vendor management

Our approach was to use the existing Sugar structure.  A drop-down field was added with a "Vendor" option to separate Vendors from other account types.  A "Purchasing" Team was created to allow access to specific users.  Contact Records are tied to those accounts, other modules have fields added, and BPM is used to create vendor specific processes. 

Thanks Bud.  That's a great idea.  I really didn't want to create a module specifically for vendors.  I think this way might work for us.  I may then be able to use the Product Catalog or Purchased module to enter in vendor rates.
