Prohibiting View of Subpanel

Hello.  First time posting a question.  Using SUGAR Enterprise V13

I have been tasked with figuring out how to prohibit (or allow) selected users to vew selected information on a Record/Account subpanel. Was thinking of using Team/Role Permissions and when the original record is created assigining it to a specific Team.  This does not seem to be working when a user form the selcted team views tha account, the document is not populating

Summary:

Accounts can be viewed by everyone (set accounts to Global)

Prohibit a group from viewing doucments not assgined/created by the user on the Documents SubPanel

I have tried different configuration of permissions.  All seem to be on the Module, not the Subpanel. Any ideas on the correct configuration?

How do I (if it can be done) set permissions on a subpanel?

Any other suggesitons on how to configure this scenario?

Thanks in advance for any ideas/help!

  • Hi ,

Welcome to SugarClub! A subpanel is a mechanism for displaying another module's related data so any role restrictions you place on a module would carry over to subpanels for that module. One limitation with roles is that you cannot restrict or grant permissions based on the record creator. You can for the record owner (assigned to). Using roles, you can restrict the Documents subpanel to only show records where the current user is assigned to a document by changing the List property to 'Owner':

If you wanted to enable visibility for more than the record owner, then team security would be the most appropriate mechanism. I am confused why your user would not see a document in the subpanel that is assigned to a team if the user is also assigned to that team. That sounds like something you would need to open a support case to look at further as it should be functioning as you expect.
