Share a field between modules

You can add a calculated field on Opportunities and populate it with the related Account field.

Thanks for this. Unfortunately the accounts field is a dropdown - when I try to add it as calulated field on the opps module, calculated field is not an option.

are you on premise or Cloud ? because this is something that is possible on Cloud  (at least when I check a 12.3 Sell Advanced Edition)

If you are on premise, you are probably in an older version and this feature is not available for the moment.

You should probably do it by code using a SETVALUE dependency : https://support.sugarcrm.com/Documentation/Sugar_Developer/Sugar_Developer_Guide_11.0/Architecture/Sugar_Logic/Dependency_Actions/SetValue/

We're on v12 enterprise - hosted with a provider not Sugar.

You should have the feature that Frédéric Rinaldi mentions when you upgrade to Sugar 13.0 which is due to come out in the next quarter (typically April).

so you should try (until you upgrade to 13) to create a setvalue dependency. It's not complicated, upgrade safe and should works like a charm to solve your problem.
