Custom Code for Auto incrementing

I did add the auto incrementing field as you have shown, but when I import the records it does not start from the number I have entered.

Assume you are referring to new records, which would be odd is they don't follow on from what you define in Studio,  what number do they start with for those?

                Originally, I was going to import records 601 to 1188, which are the records for our fiscal year. But given all the issues with the auto increment I have prepared a csv file for records 1 thru 1188. Once these records are imported, I was hoping to have the auto increment start at 1189 for new records entered in to the new Sugar module.

Hi Laura,

If you need to retain the original reference numbers, you'll probably need to

ask Sugar support to switch off the autoincrement at database level for that field.
Then import your records
Then set the next increment number for that field in Studio
Then ask support to enable autoincrement on that field again.
