URL Field for internal network locations

Hi,

Is it possible to use a URL field to open an internal file on a network location?  I want to be able to use an address like this "file:///C:\Users\Evolution\Documents\ACT" and when I click it, the folder will open.  Is this possible?  I've tested this and the URL goes in and is hyperlinked but nothing happens when you click on the link.

Thanks

Damon

  • Hi Damon Terry,

I assume you are using one of the modern web browsers like Chrome, Firefox or Safari.

This limitation comes from the browser and nothing to do with the sugar.

If you open your browser console (Ctrl+Shift+I for Chrome), you can see the below error upon clicking on the link which reads "Not allowed to load local resource: ". There are some resources available online on Google to disable such behavior but that's on the cost of compromising browser security.

    Regards.
