How can I get the "Comment Log" in the Calls module to show up as a column in a report?

Using SugarCRM Professional, Version 8.3.0 (Build 149) (Winter '19)

The current versions 8.3 and 9.0 do not support reporting on Comment Logs.
This is logged already as Bug #82070 in the support area.
