Hi,
In Sugar 7.x when you add any activity, Calls, Meetings, Task, to an Opportunity it doesn't seem to roll-up to be viewable at the Account detail overview screen.
Any idea how to make it so please?

To my knowledge, it's related only to one. So the opportunity or the account, not both.
You could create a custom relationship between the activity and account so you can relate it. However it will be in a different subpanel than the normal activities in account.
Maybe there is another option, I would be interested too.

Indeed, but not very useful that way.
Instead should have the same relationships to the Account level as the Contacts module, as any activities at Contact level do show at Account detail view level.
I honestly can't believe this isn't being addressed.
What happened to the principles of 360 degree view in CRM? :-(
It's working for accounts and contacts. But I don't think it's there for opportunities and accounts like you want.
But if you create a call related to a contact, it will be related to the contact AND his account. It's working in version 6.5.

Yes Jonathan, I know it works for Contacts I said that already, and also suggested it should work same way for Opportunities - not just for Calls, but all activities.
Lets' say you have a meeting booked regarding an Opportunity. You would create that from within the Meetings subpanel of the Opportunity it relates to, correct? That is after all the reason for these subpanels to exist in the Opportunity view. The same for any Tasks that are related to that Opportunity.
So all is well, the information is nicely organised so these activities display with the related Opportunity.
Except, none of that is viewable at an Account overview level.
So if anyone would like to see if any tasks or meetings or calls are outstanding for that account, they are unable to do so from the main account detail view, they would literally have to go into every Opportunity and look there.
And I say 'every Opportunity', because is is very common to have ongoing planned meetings and tasks for closed as well as open Opportunities.
I am not the only one asking about this to be fixed, many others have including the following:

Hi Tony,
I would love to see this being picked up by products@sugarcrm.com.
I was with a customer today that had a very simple requirement: See all activities related to an Account (and it's Opportunities)
It doesn't matter where you create the meeting (From a Contact, Account, Opportunity, Meetings module) - you can't get a meeting to show up at both Account level and Opportunity level.
I have a couple of customers ask me about this already this year.
Kind regards, James.
Sadly James, as this has been brought up so many times over the years I don't think anyone is listening :-)
So based on that, be careful, don't state that Sugar CRM can provide a 360 degree view at account level as you could be sued for misrepresentations or product not as sold etc.
