Outlook 2016 freezes frequently since installing the new add-in 2.2

I have installed the new 2.2 add-in (no previous versions installed) on both laptop and desktop. Since installing, Outlook on both machines freezes frequently, requiring an End Process in Task Manager. The freezing doesn't appear to be connected to any particular function in Outlook; it just stops working. A couple of times Outlook has displayed a message that the Sugar add-in caused the crash and has been disabled. As soon as I re-enable, the freezing starts occurring again.

This is happening on two machines, both with plenty of horsepower running Windows 10. Anyone else having issues with the newly released add-in?

  • Hi Kerry Maggart

I was running O365 2013 32bit version on Win10 and Outlook was hanging/not rendering fully some of the time (maybe not as severe as your case). I´m not sure if it was OPI 2.2. I tried the 64bit version with same behavior. I ended up upgrading to O365 2016 64bit and haven´t experienced any trouble.

    Hope that helps,

  • Thanks Kristjan,

You may be on to something. We've tried the proposed solution on one computer and the freezing up appears to have stopped. I'll update as we update more computers.

    Thanks for your assistance.
