Is the email module available in the mobile app?

I don't see the email subpanel on Contacts. Is this not available in the mobile app?

  • Hi John,

It is not yet but it is on the roadmap.  Is there something specific you are looking for that we might want to make sure we do?

    Thanks

Update: April, 2017:  The Email module is on the roadmap to follow a release that will have an updated email module.  There are certain things that are required for us to support email properly so it needs to be in a new release.

  • Thanks for the response, Joe Mao. Nothing specific at this point. It was a request from a customer to be able to see the emails related to an account.

  • Where else could we be noting customer email interactions?  If emails aren't available in the mobile app, then we can't get an accurate overview of current customer history in the mobile app, and have to revert to the deskktop version.  It seems that copying and pasting an email into a CALL seems to be the only solution.

  • Hi Joe,

Yes specifically we want to be able to see the email history that has been logged to the Account/Contact/Lead. Ok apologies for being a little snotty, but... yes, basically we would need the whole module so we can see 1) the history of emails and 2) the content of those emails--same functionality as with the desktop. As previous commenter said, it's frustrating that this important information is only available on desktop.

  • When in the road map might this be scheduled for?

  • Is there any timeline on adding emails to the mobile app? This is a big roadblock for us as we use a 3rd party application (Quotewerks) to do our quoting and the only place we can view a pdf is under the mail that is sent. The other copy is a dtf and not viewable on mobile devices.

  • Hello Michael,

The goal is to have the mobile app to support email when the email module is targeted to be moved into sidecar later this year.

It is unclear where how you are storing the PDF into the system but if you are attaching it into sugar as a document or note, you should be able to view it in Sugar Mobile.

Another option is for you or partner to use the Mobile SDK (it is currently in private BETA but we can give access) to talk directly to the Quotewerks API and show the PDF directly in mobile or launch the Quotewerks mobile app from Sugar Mobile via deeplinking (if they support this capability).

For others on this thread interested in email, we will be looking for volunteers to give feedback as we get into the prototyping stage.

  • Hi,

We'd be interested in volunteering during prototype stage. Feel free to get in touch.
