PA (AW): End-event options

Hi

Lame Friday question

There are three end-event options (in Process Author): Do Nothing, Terminate Process, or Send Message.

Is there any real difference (functionally in the system) between "Do Nothing" and "Terminate Process"?

I.e. is it better, for example, to use "Terminate Process" as a rule of thumb?

Thanks,

KGM

  • Kristjan,

I have wondered the same myself.  Looking through our documentation, I found this:

    • Do Nothing : Ends the current branch; prevents parallel process branches from stopping prematurely
    • Terminate Process : Stops the entire process; will terminate all parallel branches even if there are steps remaining

    Hope this helps!
