Email Addresses Not Marked as Primary Address on Import

When you import new records into Sugar and you include an Email Address field, when the record is created the email address is not marked as a primary email address.

I just tested this on a clean 7.6.2.0 instance. I had in import file that contained First Name, Last Name and email addresses. I imported the data into the Contacts module. After importing the data, if you go look at any of the Contacts their email address is not flagged as a primary email address.

Anything in Sugar or other third-party add-ons and integrations that rely on this may not be able to find or use records that come into Sugar via import. According do some of the docs, they should be marked as the primary: http://support.sugarcrm.com/Documentation/Sugar_Developer/Sugar_Developer_Guide_7.5/Migration/Importing_Records/Importin…

Can anyone else replicate this? Is this a bug?

  • Got it thanks.
Now the trick is trying to find something that CAN be mass-updated... trying to update a field that is already set is not working so I'm telling my Leads person to skip one of the common fields in the import and mass update it after the import while making sure she keeps enough information in the Lead to be able to filter the ones she just loaded.... a bit tricky!

Let's hope the Sugar team can get a hot fix out for this one....

    thanks,
