Outlook 2016 (win) (x86) Plug-in

Hi Chris,

We are indeed working on supporting Office 2016 for our OPI 2.1. Support for Office 16 will be in 1HCY2016.

Also, there is no tricking the installer about Office 2016 vs Office 2013 based on reg keys. Please do understand that we are not supporting Office 2016 as of yet for our plug-in so it can cause unintended consequences.

Hi everyone,

We have several customers who have already upgraded to Outlook 2016, and as such can no longer use the Outlook/Sugar plugin. I logged a case with Sugar support, who have replied with the following:

Support for Windows 10 is being considered in the release after OPI 2.1 along with Office2016. The release is not planned yet but we hope to have that in the first half of 2016.

We are not overly happy about this, especially seeing as Office 2016 was released in September of 2015! However, there isn't much we can do unfortunately. Hopefully Sugar will *actually* release this in the first half of the year, and there won't be any delay...!

FYI there is a 3rd party plugin designed to work with Office 365 and Outlook 2016.

"GrinMark Outlook 365 Plugin for SugarCRM"

You may find it on SugarExchange (just go sugarexchange.com and search for office 365 - it is first in the list). It has monthly subscription plans and trial so may worth to try as a temporary or permanent replacement.

I have been looking for this plug-in since January and keep getting told WE ARE WORKING ON IT - apparently they are not working very hard! The entire system seems pretty useless if you can't integrate email communications.

We have not deviated from the time commitments made since last year. We will officially release support for Office2016 by mid-year.

I have 365 Office 2016 and was able to get Microsoft to install Outlook 2013 (15.0.4815.1000) MSO (15.0.4815.1001) 32 bit.

The Sugar Plug In works except it throws sync errors on startup and I cannot archive e-mail. [CASE:240246]

Sugar has not responded to numerous requests for an update.

I suspect they are just going to have me wait for the 2016 version.

Solution #1:

Step #1 (Fix the Interface)

1.    Access the Windows Registry Editor via Start,  Run,  Cmd,  RegEdt32,  enter.

2.    Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{00063001-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\TypeLib

I was able to Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\

But did not find 0006xxxx

Microsoft support performed the original installation.

I still need help.

I´ve been using it for couple of days but not tested extensively.

Only thing I´ve seen so far is that the refresh on the sidepanel is a bit changed. You have to click on the sugarcube (not just anywhere in the header), it spins nicely but looks like refresh is not taking place. New records are not reflected in the sidepanel right away. Seem to just come after the scheduled cache expires, i.e. the refresh is not working. Anyone else seeing this behavior?

Hi Kristjan,

We haven't changed the behavior of manual refresh from our earlier version.

You need to double-click anywhere in the header and it will refresh. The spinning sugarcube is just a visual element for now.

Maybe its just me but this is the behavior I´m experiening in Outlook 2013 (Office 365) 32 bit (15.0.4745.1000):

- When in a email from a contact NOT found in Sugar, double clicking anywhere on the header produces a "Loading..." text to appear (but ofcourse nothing happens since the contact isn´t found in Sugar)

- When in a email from a contact FOUND in Sugar, double clicking anywhere in the header (except the sugarcube) results in nothing (no "Loading..." and the date is not refreshed).

- When in a email from a contact FOUND in Sugar, double clicking only on the sugarcube, gets the cube to spin but no "Loading..." appears (and the data is not refreshed).

Just throwing this info in here, if it might be of any value

Hi Alay Desai  Sorry I forgot to mention this. Yes, so my issue was that I DID NOT uninstall OPI 2.1, but rather installed the 2.2 over the top of it   So, seems like reading the manual would have helped here...   Uninstall first, then install the new.
