Hi all.
With a local SMTP setup (not Gmail), can I have part of our company use Outlook as email client and part using Gmail?
Thanks

Kristjan,
At a system level, there can only be one SMTP mail server configured in Admin > Email Settings.
Users have the option to create SMTP mail accounts within the Emails module > Settings > Mail Accounts. These will be personal mail accounts and once created, users should have the option to select which account they would like to send the email from when composing an email (select the From address bar).
Hope this helps,
Lori
But doesnt the general email setup have to have Gmail, for my Gmail users?
Here is an example: I have configured the general email (outgoing) to use Yahoo. But I want to setup a user to use Gmail:
I cannot change the yahoo mail there. So it seems like if I am using Yahoo for general email (outbound), then my users will have to user Yahoo or Outlook/Lotus Notes. See where I am going with this?
As always, thanks so much

Kristjan,
Yes, you are correct. From the user's profile page, they will be forced to use the SMTP mail server that is specified in the Admin > Email Settings section. However, they should be able to go to the Emails Module directly, and create a separate SMTP mail account.
Hope this helps.
Lori
Yes a bit but this is all the options I see in the User Profile:
There is only the choice of External or Sugar client + more email addressess. Or am I not looking in the right place?
Thanks,
