Task creation only on previous task completion

Hi Folks,

Not sure if this is currently possible or on the roadmap.

You have 4 stages to a CJ

You have 4 tasks in each stage

Is it possible to configure the CJP to only create the next due task once the previous task has been marked complete - rather than have all tasks created with no or future due dates, and / or unassigned that get updated once the previous task in the journey is completed? To eliminate the generation of numerous tasks that aren't due or relevant.

Thanks

  • No - and this is by design. If the future tasks are not created, it is not possible to report on 'progress', as the work left to be done is not known.

The challenge of tasks that aren't due/relevant can usually be mitigated via dashlets/reports which filter based upon when things are due, or who they are assigned to.

However, perhaps a way of addressing that need is if CJP used teams to hide activities which are unscheduled+unassigned, and then globalised those records when assigned out. Probably needs a bit of thought to manage this appropriately, but if desired, I'd suggest submitting it as a product enhancement here: sugarclub.sugarcrm.com/.../product-suggestions
