Show a contacts dropdown list specific to the account when entering a note, task, call, or meeting.

For example, when creating a note and adding a contact one must know exactly which contact the note needs to be associated with and type their name into the field knowing how it is spelled. This enhancement should display a drop-down list of all the contacts associated with that account when the Contact field is clicked.

  • Hi

I definitely know what you're after and I believe I've done majority of these for one of my clients in the past. I just need to track down the project and I will let you know. I know I've done this Notes and Tasks, I was even working on an addon that would do this across majority of the modules dynamically. Let me check on Calls and Meetings, as that's slightly different for sure.

is accurate on the approach, it basically defaults the filter by Account set within the Flex Relate. The benefit here is although it would default filter by the Account Set on the Record you could always click the X to turn off the filter and search all the contacts.

is also correct that best practices are to create an Activity from the Contact as it will carry with it all the relationships, I always suggest this for best practices

I am with you that there is always a use case to switch the Contact that was originally linked or you just want to apply best practices and ensure sales reps only pick from a Contact related to the account. Here is a screenshot of what I think you're after when creating a Task it applyes the Filter by Related Account by default share.cleanshot.com/zZ8Q36LF

  • Hello

Thank you for your response. As a newcomer to SugarCRM, I understand that making changes or calls in the backend code (PHP or JavaScript) requires control over the source code. However, our instance of SugarCRM is deployed by SYSPRO and is not hosted on our local premises.

Could you please advise me on how I can begin making changes or customizations in the SugarCRM portal? I would like to start developing custom features for SugarCRM.

Your suggestion will be highly appreciated
    Thank you
