Sending base64 images through APIs

Hello community,

I'm here with a question regarding an API integration sending images.

Our goal is to transfer an image from an external system to Sugar. In Sugar we were thinking on saving the file in an image type field.

The external system can send images encoded in base64 format, please see the attached file.

Do we have a standard way to save the base64 format image into an image field and decode it?

I have tried before using base64 and was not working correctly so I have change to a normal file upload.

Images are saved like normal attachments in the upload file area. The image field contains the 36 char uuid of this uplaoded attachment, not the content of the image. So the only possibility to save a base64 encoded image to Sugar is to use a machine in the middle to write it on a file and then upload it to the record where it should be saved.
