Hello, I am using sugarcrm 7.8 in which I created modules.
I am switching to sugarcrm 12.
My question is to know if there would be compatibility issues if I port modules from 7.8 to 12. ?
Thanks.

At each step of the upgrade the Health Check stage will tell you if there are any incompatibilities.
There is a guide to troubleshooting the Health Check here:
In general any Red flags will keep you from moving forward until you fix the problem.
Yellow are warnings, you want to investigate and decide if you want to ignore them or not
Green is all good, no problem there.
Check the Release Notes for each Release prior to upgrading, it gives great information about what things may cause problems.
For example the Enterprise Release Notes for version 12.0 are here: https://support.sugarcrm.com/Knowledge_Base/Installation_Upgrade/Troubleshooting_Health_Check_Output/
Googling "SugarCRM Release Notes" followed by the version number should help you find each one quite easily.
You will have to go through several upgrade steps to get to v12, you won't be able to do it directly.
There is a good post here by Alex Nassi that will show you the steps you will need to take:
As you will see if you are on Sugar Professional, once you get to v11 you will need to migrate to Enterprise before you can upgrade to v12.
I hope this helps answer your question.
