Difference between create and create-action in sugar 7?

Hi All,

When you explore the clients/base/views/ there are two folders for new records for validations or any other logic (create and create-actions).
We normally do the stuff in create-actions.(js/php).
If you go to main clients there is another create directory , I wonder for what purpose this is?

Did any body ever worked with this (create.js or create.php)?

Thank you,

Usman

  • Engineering is looking at removing the separate "create" view in an upcoming release because, as noted in this thread, it's separate existence from the "create-actions" view isn't really justified.

  • Well, we do have the need for different views at times.

For example, for us, the layout for Cases Quick Create (the + on the top right hand side) is different from the layout for Cases->Create Case

If we could keep the ability to have a separate layout in Quick Create that would be nice. If not, we'll live with what the majority chooses.

    thanks,
