events module - ability to edit and efficiency when building out multiple sessions

Hello,

We're reviewing Sugar Market's Events module to understand whether it's suitable for our organisation. The user case we're testing is an open home inspection - i.e. one apartment would normally have at least 6 different sessions listed.

We've watched the latest videos on Events and understand the steps and stages in the build.

Within the Events build, do you have any suggestions on how we can make this process more efficient? What we found was human errors happened when we manually added all the details into each session. The only elements changing are the date and time, yet each session requires the info to be inserted again. It seems inefficient.

Can you also please confirm, when you click 'enable email sending', which elements can you no longer edit? This part feels limiting - what happens if you discover a simple error after you have enabled it? Do you need to build the entire event again?

Will await your advice and recommendations.

Thanks

Therese

  • Hi Therese,

    Nice to hear from you.

Please see my response below to the questions and let me know if you would like to catch up on these:

In the Event module, you can use the Duplicate option and copy the whole Event across. That will allow you to limit human error and just change Event Date/Time as well as any other Event Settings.

Q2: Can you also please confirm, when you click 'enable email sending', which elements can you no longer edit? This part feels limiting - what happens if you discover a simple error after you have enabled it? Do you need to build the entire event again?

Once the ‘Enable Email Sending’ is enabled the Session Emails Setup fields can no longer be edited. This means you won’t be able to go in and Edit the email or change any of the settings. It’s a confirmation for the system to send the emails -> same as a single email campaign (you can’t edit the email campaign when the status is changed to Sent)

  • Hi   Great to hear from you. Thanks for responding to my questions.

With the duplicating events, my question was related to the below setup in the events profile section. How do you make this step efficient? On an average event, we might run 6 sessions. How can you duplicate session one across to the other 5 sessions so human errors don't appear? Is there a way of doing that or is a manual task of re-entering the session details in each individual session?
