Is there a way to BCC a sugar email address on an email so the email will go right into sugar?

In my old company CRM we used to be able to BCC an email address when we were sending an email to a client which would like the email to the clients record.

I am aware that we can do this with the archive function on sugar connect.  I do find it easier just BCC and then hit send and it will go into that clients opportunity.

Wondering if sugar has this type of functionality.

  • We define an address in our Inbound Email  as "Import Emails Automatically" and "Create Case from Email" = No.

When you  bcc that address Sugar will read in the emails and archive them.

By Bcc'ing the address you create the emails_email_addr_rel relationship.

However, it is also possible that by Bcc'ing this address you create a record for an inbound email where the participants are not known in Sugar. In other words the email_address is not linked to any record visible by the users, and there is no Contact or Lead related to that address. Which leads to the potential for creating a bunch of orphan email addresses. It also opens you up to the potential for spam mail being logged.
