Issue with mapping related field from account to lead

Anyone know why my related field isn't showing up in the record view of my lead? I'm just trying to pull a field from the household (account module) into the lead that is already related to said household. I feel like the related field call I made should pull it in, but it doesn't. Can anyone help me understand what I'm missing here? (Screenshots below)

  • Hey  !

In the Househould record, does that Lead show in the Lead subpanel? I know in stock Sugar instances there is a field called "Account Name" in the Leads module but it's just a TextField and doesn't actually hold the relationship. The relationship can only be seen in the Accounts module within that Lead subpanel. Can you check to make sure that Lead shows in that Account record? Because I looked at your formulas and similar ones worked in my tests.

  • Thanks Casey!

I'm showing a relationship between leads and accounts (businesses/households on our CRM). Would that rule out the textfield issue?

I'm doing this in our developer sandbox so that I don't break the actual CRM while trying to figure it out. Is it possible that has anything to do with it?

    Thanks,

  • Hey Trent!

That is the right relationship, but it depends on how the two are related. You see that one field in the Lead screenshot you shared called Business/Household name? Is the Household name there clickable? I think that's just your TextField - so it doesn't hold the actual relationship. Check Admin > Studio > Leads > Fields > Business/Household name. What type of field is that?

For the Lead to be related to the Household it has to show in the Lead subpanel within the Household record. Something like this:

Can you please check the Lead subpanel under the parent Household record to see if the relationship is there? If not, try linking it using the down arrow button and clicking "Link Existing Record", and then selecting your example Lead. Then navigate back to your Lead and do an Edit > Save. Did the fields update?

If it is there, and the fields still aren't updating, then I think this would need more investigating and it might be best to submit a case with us at Support. If you would like for me to submit a case on your behalf, please let me know and I can do so - or you can submit through our portal or by emailing us at support@sugarcrm.com

  • Got it, the leads subpanel actually doensn't even appear under households right now. I bet if I get that fixed it'll solve the other issue. Thanks Casey!

  •   might be a dumb question, but I can't seem to figure out how to add a leads subpanel. I made it to the subpanel section in studio, the relationship is in place, but I don't see the option to add a new module as a subpanel. What am I missing?

  •  Not a dumb question, I promise. This can happen if the Lead subpanel is being hidden. Can you please check Admin > Navigation Bar and Subpanels, scroll down to the Subpanel options, and see if Leads is in the Hidden Subpanels table? If so, click and drag Leads to Displayed Subpanels and save.

Let me know how that goes!

  • It's working now, thank you  !
