How is it possible SugarCRM doesn't have his own Business Card Scanner feature?

Good evening,

I can't explain why SugarCRM mobile app doesn't provide an integrated business card scanner to immediately create a Lead or a Contact.
Open Question: how do you normally manage this need?

Thanks

  • This is the solution we have been working with for many years now and it's an absolute charm: https://www.snapaddy.com/en/businesscards/digital-business-card.html :)

  • Hi ,

Can you share a bit more about how you integrated that with Sugar?
Do you simply capture and import Leads via their BusinessCard solution by exporting to Excel and importing in Sugar or do you also use their DataQuality product?

And how does it do with international business cards and different alphabets?

    Thanks,
    Francesca

  • Hi  ,

as   wrote, the connection is done directly in SnapAddy, only via the instance URL - also for on-prem, which is what we have (as you do too, I think).

You can export the data either directly to SugarCRM or to the Data Quality-product, which is what we use, because we had some additional fields added there (which SnapAddy also does for you), so that we really get all the data we need.

As for international business cards and other alphabets, I can't speak for us, because we are only operating in Europe currently, but I have seen examples of this being used with e.g. Indian business cards and the text recognition was working just as perfectly as it does with standard business cards and alphabets Thumbsup But as I know them they also have some very happy larger/worldwide operating customers who love to share their experience ;D
