Setting up SMTP SugarCRM 14.0.0 Build 233 Sell Advanced cloud hosted

Good day,

My SugarCRM has recently been moved from onsite to the cloud and I am having issues getting the email setup with Microsoft Office 365.

I have setup the required Entra ID App and setup the SMTP settings but SugarCRM fails to connect to the server.

I have done some research and think its because Authenticated SMTP is turned off on my Office 365, I can't enable this so what can I do to send email to Office 365?

    Hi  ,

    You are correct that SMTP Auth needs to be enabled. For clients of ours where they want to configure Sugar with Microsoft 365, they have a specific MS account dedicated for sending email from Sugar. All normal users have SMTP Auth disabled but the tenant and dedicated account have it enabled.

    Hi  I have setup an account in Office 365 to handle the email and set to SMTP Auth enabled but the email test still fails to connect to smtp.office365.com using this account.

    If you are still receiving the errors you listed above, then you need to enable SMTP Auth at the tenant level. You can modify this setting via the UI or PowerShell.
