Collecting data from existing Leads using Sugar Campaigns

Need to send out an email campaign to existing leads with some questions that include dropdowns for existing lead fields. We are hoping that the leads can reply and fill in the answers and have the lead updated in Sugar with the relevant information.

Has anyone tried something like this and with any success ?

Environment - Sugar Professional on Sugar Cloud.

  • Just to satisfy our curiosity (we're trying a few different processes for lead form interaction, including the built in campaign tool), what solution did you opt for?

  • I couldn't help having a bit of fun and wondering if anyone wanted to know the approach we decided on taking. Happy to share

After experimenting with Web to Lead HTML, it became apparent that putting HTML in a Campaign Template was only the beginning of a complicated solution.

So instead, we are looking at :

    1. Creating a dedicated web page to collect the data we want (populated with Web to Lead HTML) linked to a Lead Data Cleanse Campaign.
    2. Sending a Marketing Campaign linked to the Lead Data Cleanse Campaign out to all Leads to be cleansed with an appropriately worded explanation and a link to the page created in point 1 for the Leads to fill out.
    3. When submitted, this will create a new lead linked to the Lead Data Cleanse Campaign (we will be able to determine who did and didn't reply etc.)
    4. Based on the data provided and a new lead trigger, we will use workflow to auto route the new lead (but with specific instructions to the assignee, that they are to review the information provided, use merge duplicate with the original lead and then process the updated lead through to conversion or set status to inactive.

    Hope this helps
