Opportunities: "Resolution" date?

Hi all

Sugar has Created Date and Modified Date as standard. I´m wondering if Sugar has "Resolution date" (or some other name to that effect). Sugar also has date_closed but that is used to estimate when the sale will take place (not automatic field).  What I am looking for, does Sugar note the date an Opportunities is closed (i.e. 100% or even 0%) into a field?

Just wondering for PA and report usage. I can probably just use the Sale Stage status as a criteria and then Modified Date for calculations (plan to make a Process that waits x weeks before creating a follow up Task).

  • There isn't an automatic field like that as far as I know. Our process is to just update the Expected Close Date (date_closed) field manually at the same time when Closing the sales stage. This works for us as the end date is not always the current day.

    You could create your own resolution date field and use some PA logic to set that when the sales stage closes. That would probably be a better option than relying on the Date Modified, as that would break down if you ever needed to edit the opportunity again later.

  • To be pedantic, the default of only having 'expected close date' is only useful for Forecasting, and should not be then changed when closed.

    Instead, add another field for 'Actual Close Date'.

    Having both will also help understanding how well we forecast, either as a whole or just on certain customers to highlight this during next opportunity discussions with them.

    I also believe this field should be added by default.
