Security Warning: Phishing and Wire Fraud

We're reaching out today to remind you to stay vigilant against phishing attacks and wire fraud. 2024 has seen a global increase so SugarCRM is sharing some tips to help you avoid being caught out:

What is Phishing / Wire Fraud?

Phishing emails are designed to trick you into revealing personal information or pressure you to redirect payments into a fraudster’s account. These emails often have an urgent tone to try and pressure you into acting quickly.

Wire fraud is using electronic communication (such as email or phone) to deceive someone in order to steal money.

How to Stay Safe:

  • Verify the sender's address: Don't trust the sender’s name alone. Look closely at the email address to see if it appears legitimate.
  • Don't click on suspicious links: Phishing emails often contain links that lead to fake websites. Always check any links before clicking on them to see if they are going to a legitimate website.
  • Be cautious of unsolicited emails: If you are unsure whether an email from SugarCRM is legitimate or not, contact your CSM or the SugarCRM support team for assistance verifying the message.

By remaining vigilant and following these tips, you can help protect yourself from phishing scams and wire fraud.
