I have some important SugarCRM news to share. After careful consideration, Craig Charlton has decided to step aside from his role as our CEO and move to the role of Chairman of the Board. You can reference today’s press release about this update here.
Firstly, I want to stress that Craig’s decision is personal and in no way reflects on Sugar as a business. As much as he has loved leading our team, it has become clear that it is exceedingly difficult to do so from Australia. The time difference and the demands of US hours have taken a toll on both him and his family.
In agreement with the Board, we therefore commenced a search for a new US based CEO and I am excited to be able to introduce David Roberts. Denver based, he not only brings a wealth of CRM and B2B SaaS experience but a fresh perspective and a proven track record of growth that I believe will be invaluable as Sugar enters its next phase.
While any leadership change naturally brings new perspectives and ideas, our core values and culture are deeply ingrained in who we are as a company. David will no doubt bring his own unique leadership style but is fully committed to upholding the principles that have made our company and our partnership with you, our customers, successful to date. As someone who prides himself on leading customer-centric businesses, he’s very much looking forward to engaging with and listening to you, our customers. In fact, if you or your teams are attending our upcoming customer adoption roadshows, you may well see David there in person.
If you have any questions about today’s news, don’t hesitate to reach out to your account rep or CSM. We’re here to support you on your journey with Sugar.
