Cordova-ios plugin

I'm wondering if there are any plans to update the cordova-ios plugin to a more recent version? We work extensively with the google maps plugin and need to be able to use a recent version of that plugin but it requires cordova-ios 5.0 and currently the mobile sdk is using 4.5.3.

    I have also the same issue. when i am tring to add cordova google map plugin for sdk 11 it gives,

    Error: 

    Plugin doesn't support this project's cordova-ios version. cordova-ios: 4.5.3, failed version requirement: >=5.0.0

    Skipping 'cordova-plugin-googlemaps' for ios

    how to upgrade this version? i have maually try in package.json and config.xml file but these files are not enough to update.

    Does it require to upgrade yarn or homebrew as well?
